My grandfather Benton F. Eichorn was a brave hero and someone I wish I could have met. A pilot in WWII, he died on June 7 1944 at the age of 21. He was killed when the B-25 bomber he was piloting was shot down over Vernio, Italy.  One of the most amazing events in my life involved the discovery of my grandfather’s dog tag in the Tuscan hills in 2013.  It rested on a hillside for nearly 70 years, having survived a plane crash, bomb explosions, and was discovered by a young hunter in 2013.  A non profit book will be for sale shortly on this website, stay tuned!
